Citizen Attempts Self-Harm: Psychologist Prevents Extreme Action
Today, on June 5, an emergency incident occurred in Yerevan. Around 7:20 AM, the National Emergency Service's 911 Crisis Management Center received a call reporting that a citizen had attempted self-harm by cutting a vein in their arm in one of the houses in Nork-Shengavit.
According to Shamshyan.com, a firefighting unit from the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Emergency Situations Department quickly arrived at the scene.
Firefighters and a rescue psychologist discovered that a young man had cut his vein in one of the rooms and was threatening to resort to that method again. The rescue psychologist provided psychological support at the scene. Subsequently, police officers from the Patrol Service’s 2nd battalion in Yerevan, led by deputy battalion commander David Nikoghosyan, arrived, and the citizen was taken to the Shengavit Police Station at his own request.
According to G. Shamshyan's information, the individual is identified as 31-year-old E.B., and a hearing regarding him was scheduled to take place today in court.
