Car Crashes and Overturns Near Avan Plaza; Injuries Reported
On June 4, at 23:40, a call was received by the National Crisis Management Center reporting an accident on the road from Myasnikyan Street to Gay Street, near the 'Avan Plaza' hotel in Yerevan, where a vehicle had overturned and smoke was visible.
Two firefighting units from the Ministry of Emergency Situations' Yerevan rescue department were dispatched to the scene. It was determined that an Opel vehicle (driver: A.D., born in 1968) had crashed into the curb and overturned, causing a gas leak.
Passengers L.K. (born in 1977) and S.E. were hospitalized at the St. Grigor Lusavorich Medical Center.
Rescuers de-energized the vehicle, shut off the gas cylinder valve, secured the area, righted the vehicle, and carried out road cleaning operations.
