Video: Go Ask Those Who Tell Fairytales, Papikyan on News of Soldier Abductions
On May 30, in the National Assembly, journalists sought to clarify details from Defense Minister Suren Papikyan regarding the disappearance of two servicemen from the Armed Forces a few days earlier.
The minister urged reporters, "Go ask those who tell fairytales," before leaving in an elevator.
It should be noted that communication was lost with two servicemen from the RA Armed Forces supplying food to combat positions on May 26 at around 19:00. Later, it was reported that a rear supply vehicle used by these two servicemen was found on an inter-post road, loaded with food and water intended for combat posts.
On May 26, Azerbaijani media and then the Azerbaijani border service disseminated disinformation claiming that the Armenian side had attempted a diversionary infiltration, and two RA servicemen had been arrested.
The vehicle found also contained a weapon attached to one of the servicemen, which indicates that even if the servicemen left their vehicle and became disoriented, they could not have had diversionary intentions.
Extensive efforts are underway to clarify the circumstances of the illegal abduction of Armenian servicemen by Azerbaijan. The two servicemen from the RA Armed Forces are Harutyun Yuriki Hovagimyan and Karen Ashoti Ghazaryan.
