Ukraine Imposes 50-Year Sanctions on Iran
The Supreme Council of Ukraine has approved a decision to impose sanctions on Iran for a period of 50 years, as reported by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak, noting that the resolution was supported by 328 lawmakers.
According to the MP, the sanctions, which will last for five decades, will involve a complete prohibition on trade operations with Iran, a cessation of transit for Iranian citizens through Ukrainian territory, and Kyiv's refusal to fulfill economic and financial obligations towards Iranian citizens. Additionally, a ban will be imposed on the transfer of rights regarding technologies and intellectual property objects.
Kyiv accused Tehran in October 2022 of supplying weapons and drones to Russia. According to the Ukrainian side, the largest attack on Kyiv occurred on the night of May 28 using Iranian drones.
Iran has denied the allegations.
