Armenian Company Added to US Sanctions List

The United States has imposed new export restrictions against Russia, which also includes companies from Armenia and Kyrgyzstan allegedly connected to the Russian Federation, reports Kommersant.ru.

According to the announcement from the US Department of Commerce, the Armenian company Medisar, which sells laboratory equipment and chemicals, has also been placed on the new US sanctions list. Another company is from Kyrgyzstan, while the rest are Russian.

In total, 71 companies have been added to the new sanctions list by the US Department of Commerce, as Washington suspects them of supporting Russia's military-industrial complex.

The new restrictions also apply to companies such as the Kazan Gunpowder Factory, the “Aurora” concern, and the Tula Machine-Building Plant. “An additional 1224 manufactured goods added to the list will now require licenses for export or re-export and for transferring into Russian and Belarusian territory,” the announcement from the US Department of Commerce states.

The list of banned exports from the US to Russia and Belarus has expanded to include antiques, alcohol, and watches. The United States has also imposed a ban on the importation of various phone devices, recorders, microphones, and household appliances into Russia.
