The Goal is to Establish Regular Passenger Flights to Kapan Airport, Says Minister
In the near future, a second flight to Kapan Airport will be carried out. This was announced by Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan during discussions on the 2022 budget performance report in the National Assembly, recalling that the first flight has already taken place.
Sanosyan stated that the goal is to have regular passenger transportation.
According to the minister, there is one aircraft that is ready for flight as well. “We have conducted one technical flight, during which we have identified certain technical issues. Now we are working in that direction. There are areas where changes need to be made in the navigation system, and there are places where additional equipment needs to be installed,” he said, adding that the second flight is expected to occur shortly.
However, it is possible that the plane may not land in Kapan, “because the issues that have been identified are not at the airport, but within the airport zone. Now we will conduct the second flight to determine whether the issues identified after the installation of our equipment have been resolved,” he added.
