Only He Can Tell the Truth: Zakharova Makes an Offer to American Senator
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, has suggested that American Senator Lindsey Graham clarify what he actually meant when he spoke about the U.S. spending and the deaths of Russians.
A video circulated on the internet where the American senator stated that the U.S. has never spent money as successfully, as it results in the death of Russians. Later, some Western media outlets reported that Graham's words had been pieced together from different sources, implying that the statements regarding Russian deaths did not directly relate to his declaration about the successful spending of American resources, contrary to how it was initially presented by Kyiv.
“American, British Anglo-Saxon media are now trying to convince us that Senator Graham's statement was taken out of context, even claiming it was edited by the Kyiv regime. But we have not heard a single condemnation of the Kyiv regime. However, I have a suggestion; I think it would be a good option. If Senator Graham believes that his words were taken out of context, and he does not think that way, he has every opportunity to make a statement. He can take his phone, turn on the camera, point it at himself, and record a short video. Only then will we all know what actually happened,” Zakharova proposed in a video posted on her Telegram channel.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry characterized attempts to justify Senator Lindsey Graham’s statements as cynical and shameful. The agency’s statement noted that the entire story related to the absurd attempts to defend Graham is another blow to the already damaged reputation of Reuters and BBC, which have had to 'emerge from the shadows' for both Washington and Kyiv.
The head of the Russian Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed yesterday to initiate a criminal case regarding the anti-Russian statements made by Senator Graham. Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia, commented on Graham's statements about the 'death of Russians' in an interview with the Shot Telegram channel, stating that it is a great disgrace for the country to have such a senator.
