Ovchuchuk Reveals Unresolved Issues in Communications Between Armenia and Azerbaijan

The discussion revolves around technical details that are crucial, stated Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Ovchuchuk while commenting on which communication issues between Armenia and Azerbaijan remain unresolved.

It was announced that a trilateral meeting between the leaders of Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan took place in Moscow on May 25. It has been reported that a week later, trilateral negotiations will be held at the level of deputy prime ministers, during which the issues of unblocking transport communications in the region will be discussed.

"The discussion is about the procedure for crossing the border between Azerbaijan and Armenia, regarding how border and customs control will be conducted, which is typically carried out at the border," Ovchuchuk told reporters.

Recall that on May 25, in Moscow, the regular session of the Eurasian Economic Supreme Council took place, with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev also participating (Azerbaijan is not a member of the EAEU). Following that, Putin held separate meetings with Pashinyan and Aliyev, after which a trilateral discussion began. Subsequently, the Russian President announced that the deputy prime ministers of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan would meet in a week to resolve the unresolved issues.
