What’s Going On? Putin on Georgia’s Reactions to the Abolishment of Russian Visas

Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that he is surprised by Georgia's reaction to the abolition of visas. According to РИА Новости, the Russian president made this remark during a meeting with members of the All-Russian Public Organization "Business Russia."

“The reaction that followed was completely unexpected for me. I thought everyone would say, ‘Thank you, good.’ No, there was some completely incomprehensible storm on this issue. It’s very strange. And quite frankly, unexpected. When I look from the side, I think they’ve completely lost it, what’s going on with them there is unclear,” said the Russian president.

Vladimir Putin clarified that such a decision was made against the backdrop of the approaching holiday season. He explained that he aims to support those who seek to establish good relations with Russia right there in Georgia, as well as Russian businessmen and citizens who love the neighboring country.
