Video: In Protest, Group Marches Towards Parliament in Georgia
In protest against the government not displaying the EU flags on the Parliament building this year, around 300 people marched with EU flags from the Rustaveli metro station towards the Parliament building. However, along Rustaveli Avenue, adjacent to the Parliament, police blocked the road and detained one of the march participants.
It should be noted that today, May 26, Georgia is celebrating its main state holiday, Independence Day. Exactly 105 years ago, on May 26, 1918, the Democratic Republic of Georgia declared the country's independence from the Russian Empire.
