Video: Hakob Arshakyan Plays Recording in the National Assembly

Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Hakob Arshakyan played a recording in response to the speeches of opposition members, featuring remarks from Robert Kocharian, who was the President of Artsakh at the time, and Levon Ter-Petrosyan regarding their speeches in 2008.

"The discussion was essentially about the 7 regions. These are the territories that representatives of the opposition and allegedly Robert Kocharian himself, who leads them, refer to as the homeland," said Hakob Arshakyan.

In his 2008 speech, Levon Ter-Petrosyan claimed he would reveal a fact hidden for 10 years, a grand conspiracy against Armenia concerning the exchange of Meghri and Artsakh.

"The contract that Robert Kocharian, Vardan Oskanian, and then Minister of Security Serzh Sargsyan were preparing to sign with Azerbaijan is published in the Hraparak newspaper," stated the first president.

Serzh Sargsyan also mentioned in the recording that Armenia agreed to hold a double referendum in the Nagorno-Karabakh area, calling it a compromise.

After the recording, Arshakyan questioned the opposition members, stating, "Artsakh is a homeland, but Meghri is not. How is it possible to exchange the Meghri region for Artsakh, and what is your homeland?"
