Putin Proposes Creation of Eurasian Technological Alliances

The innovation collaboration within the EAEU will reduce dependence on Western companies. This announcement was made by Russian President Vladimir Putin during the expanded meeting of the Eurasian Economic Supreme Council.

According to him, this is particularly important given the trends of limiting cooperation with these sectors from other countries. “We can consider the establishment of Eurasian technological alliances with the involvement of interested partners from third countries. The aim could be to organize new, knowledge-intensive, high-tech productions,” he stated.

According to the Russian president, it is also necessary to strengthen the digital sovereignty of the EAEU member countries. He proposed creating a unified digital ecosystem that would integrate national systems of electronic public services.

He also emphasized the strengthening of the EAEU’s financial sovereignty through the provision of stable banking and settlement infrastructures and the harmonization of a unified Eurasian financial market.

It is noteworthy that the regular session of the Eurasian Economic Supreme Council is taking place in Moscow, which is also attended by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. As part of his visit to Moscow, a meeting between Pashinyan and Russian President Vladimir Putin is also planned, which will be followed by a trilateral discussion involving Pashinyan, Putin, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev (Azerbaijan is not a member of the EAEU).
