Putin: 'Armenia is the main beneficiary of economic development rates in the EEU'

The cooperation within the EEU is advancing with great success. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin during the opening remarks at the meeting of the Eurasian Economic Supreme Council.

He emphasized that the pace of economic development in Armenia is the highest. “As the President of Kazakhstan rightly pointed out, the main beneficiary in this matter is Armenia, where the rates of economic development are the highest,” said Putin, who asked Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to present data regarding the pace of economic development.

Pashinyan noted that the economic growth has reached 12.1 percent this year.

Putin highlighted Russia's high appraisal of close cooperation with all EEU member countries, which is being built on mutually beneficial cooperation, respect, and consideration of each other's interests.

The Russian leader outlined the main topics on the agenda of the meeting, including energy and food security, technological and financial independence, acceleration of digital transformation processes, removal of trade barriers, and development of transport infrastructure.

He pointed out that after the meeting in a narrow format, the session would continue in an expanded format, with the online participation of the President of Uzbekistan, as well as the invited Presidents of Tajikistan and Azerbaijan.

It is notable that the next meeting of the Eurasian Economic Supreme Council is being held in Moscow today, with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also in attendance. As part of Pashinyan's visit to Moscow, a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin will take place, followed by a trilateral discussion involving Pashinyan, Putin, and Aliyev.
