“Everyone has talked about self-determination after the war, except for Pashinyan,” Mamijanyan

After the 44-day war in Artsakh, everyone has talked about self-determination except for Nikol Pashinyan. This was stated by Hayk Mamijanyan, the leader of the 'I Have Honor' faction, during a regular session of the National Assembly.

“Nikol Pashinyan is lying when he says that there were no options for self-determination after the war. The Russian President, the EU High Representative, the US ambassador in Armenia, and the Chancellor of Germany have all spoken about self-determination, except for Nikol Pashinyan. This is a fact that cannot be denied,” emphasized Mamijanyan.

He insists that the Prime Minister is also lying when he claims he can maintain the 29.8 square kilometers of territory, because the enemy's appetite cannot be restrained.

Mamijanyan also referred to comments made days ago by one of the ruling party members from the podium of the National Assembly, stating that the opposition talks about the surrender of Artsakh but does not mention that the 29.8 square kilometers of territory is fixed. “That is the same idea as if half of Armenia's regions were surrendered, and they came and said, ‘Why aren’t you praising us for holding Saryan Street?’,” he highlighted.

As for internationally guaranteed security assurances, he suggested all those ruling party members who support the idea of international guarantees for Artsakh’s status being part of Azerbaijan to go live there with those guarantees for the first time in history.

It should be noted that during a meeting with journalists on May 22, Nikol Pashinyan clarified what it means for Armenia to recognize Azerbaijan's territorial integrity of 86,600 square kilometers, stating that Azerbaijan's territory of 86,600 square kilometers also includes Nagorno-Karabakh. He also said that the communities of Tigranashen in the Ararat region and six villages in Tavush are not included in Armenia’s 29,800 square kilometers of territorial integrity.
