Fire Breaks Out in Nubarashen Landfill, Says Yerevan Mayor's Advisor

During a session of the city council, Kamo Areyan, an advisor to the Mayor of Yerevan, addressed the fire at the Nubarashen landfill. He remarked that such a significant fire occurring under the conditions of May rains was unexpected.

“The 31 hectares leased to the company has caught fire almost along its entire perimeter,” he stated. Areyan noted that all urgent measures have been organized to extinguish the flames and eliminate the smoke.

“This is not the first instance of a fire. Every year, during the summer heat, such incidents occur,” he added. Areyan also urged everyone not to think that they have come to terms with the fire and are merely waiting for it to extinguish. For more details, watch the video.
