Zaporizhzhia NPP Transitions to Diesel Generators for Power Supply

The Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant has transitioned to using diesel generators due to the disconnection of the latest high-voltage line rated at 750 kV, according to the station's Telegram channel.

"As a result of the disconnection of the 750 kV high-voltage line, the Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia NPPs have lost external electricity supply. Electricity for internal needs is being provided by diesel generators," the statement reads.

The reasons for the line disconnection are under investigation. The radiation background in the plant area, sanitary protection zone, and observation post remains normal.
