Ukraine on Russia's New Large-Scale Offensive and Another Serious Threat
The head of Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate, Kyrylo Budanov, assesses the likelihood of a significant Russian offensive in any direction as zero.
He made this statement in an interview with Yahoo News.
"At this point, Russia has no military, economic, or political capacity to attempt a large-scale offensive anywhere in Ukraine," he said. At the same time, he noted that Russia is still capable of carrying out serious defensive operations, which is a challenge Ukraine will have to confront.
Budanov also commented on the situation surrounding the 'Wagner' group.
According to the head of Ukrainian intelligence, Prigozhin is using the massive losses of his mercenaries to drive his political campaign.
"His political future is directly tied to his physical survival, as there are too many forces in Russia that want to eliminate him. It is evident that he will try to protect himself because, for him, this is not just a question of exile or prison; it is a matter of life and death," said the chief of Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate.
When asked about the involvement of Ukrainian special services in the killings of some prominent Russians, he declined to confirm or deny that information.
"What I will comment on is that we have killed Russians and will continue to kill Russians anywhere in the world until Ukraine achieves complete victory," Budanov stated.
