Yerevan-Paris-Yerevan Flight Canceled Due to Turkey Closing Airspace
FlyOne Armenia has canceled the Yerevan-Paris-Yerevan flight due to Turkey closing its airspace to the Armenian airline. The information was reported to Sputnik Armenia by Aram Ananyan, the chairman of the board of directors of FlyOne Armenia.
“Currently, around 80 passengers are unable to return to Armenia. Passengers have access to the service of FlyOne Armenia; our passengers can contact the service both in Paris and Yerevan to arrange either a return or compensation,” he stated.
It is notable that on April 29, Turkey closed its airspace to the Armenian airline FlyOne Armenia without prior notice. The aircraft operating the Paris-Yerevan flight made an emergency landing in Chișinău and only landed at Zvartnots Airport on the night of April 30.
FlyOne Armenia received its air carrier certificate on October 27, 2021. The airline operates flights to several destinations, including Moscow, Lyon, Paris, Istanbul, and Beirut. The airline's fleet consists of Airbus A320 aircraft. The company is owned by the family of Khachatur Sukiasyan, a member of the Armenian National Assembly from the Civil Contract faction.
