Armenia Informs Azerbaijan About Yerevan-Kapan Test Flight
Armenia has informed Azerbaijan about the test flight from Yerevan to Kapan. The information was provided by the Armenian Civil Aviation Committee in response to a written inquiry from Sputnik Armenia.
On April 26, at 10:58 AM, an aircraft that took off from Yerevan's Zvartnots Airport landed at Kapan's Syunik Airport. The aircraft selected for the flight was a Czech-made L-410-UVP E20, which accommodates 19 passengers.
"In accordance with established procedures, information regarding the flight was provided to Azerbaijan's air traffic service via telegram on April 25 of this year," the communiqué stated.
When asked whether the aircraft crossed into territory under Azerbaijan's control during the flight and landing, the Civil Aviation Committee clarified that it did not.
Regarding the implementation of regular flights from Yerevan to Kapan, the committee noted that the purpose of any test flight is to identify potential technical and other issues for future rectification. "Analyses regarding the internal test flight to Kapan are still ongoing, and it is currently not possible to draw definite conclusions regarding regular flights," the Civil Aviation Committee announced.
