Former UK Prime Minister Liz Truss will have to pay $15,000 for items that went missing from her government residence in Chevening. This was reported by the Times, citing a source who wished to remain anonymous.
The report states that the British Cabinet Office has sent Truss a bill for her expenses during her stay at the residence in 2022. The residence has reported that items such as towels, bathrobes, and even slippers went missing during her time as Foreign Secretary. They have requested payment for these expenses.
A spokesperson for the politician stated that Truss intends to contest the final decision, as it could include not only unofficial but also official expenses.
Earlier, it was revealed that Liz Truss faced criticism for spending public funds on dinners at elite restaurants and stays at luxury hotels. Furthermore, when she was leading the Foreign Office, there was a sharp increase in expenses within the department.
