Man Who Called Pashinyan a Traitor Arrested, Human Rights Defender Reports
A 30-year-old man was arrested after apparently calling Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan a traitor in front of the ruling Civil Contract party’s office on Sayat Nova Street. This was reported by human rights defender Ruben Melikyan during a Facebook live stream.
According to Melikyan, the citizen was released after being detained for 1.5 hours, having been taken to the police station on suspicion of carrying a cold weapon.
“Human rights defenders and citizens will not leave you alone; we may appeal the arrest decision. Is it true that anyone who says ‘Nikol the traitor’ has a cold weapon?” Melikyan concluded.
