His last original program, Tucker Carlson Tonight, aired on April 21. The broadcast schedule now temporarily includes the evening show Fox News Tonight, which will be hosted in turn by various presenters from the channel.

The reason for Carlson's departure has not been disclosed, but American media reports suggest that it occurred four days after Fox News paid over $767 million to Dominion Voting Systems in a defamation case related to the 2020 presidential election.

It is noted that Tucker Carlson's exit from Fox News has cost nearly one billion dollars. Following the announcement of the television host's departure, Fox Corp shares fell by 5.4%. As Bloomberg highlights, only sports broadcasts are more popular than Carlson in prime time cable television.
