Azerbaijan Only Understands the Language of Strength, Says French Senator in Tegh Village

“We must be ready to provide Armenia with the necessary resources to protect its sovereign territory,” announced Bruno Retailleau, the Senator from Vendée and head of the Republicans group, during his visit to the village of Tegh in Syunik.

Today, his delegation was in Tegh to assess the situation. French officials deemed Azerbaijan's encroachments on Armenia's sovereign territory unacceptable.

“Upon returning to France, we must prioritize our influence at both the level of the French president and the French government. This time, we will call for the imposition of sanctions. The international community must respond appropriately to the events occurring in Artsakh and in Armenia’s sovereign territory,” stated the senator.

“Peacekeeping forces should be deployed in Armenia because Azerbaijan only understands the language of strength. Azerbaijan must understand that there will be a strong resistance against it here; only in this case will it be possible to establish long-term peace in Armenia and Artsakh,” he added.
