No Armenians Were Harmed Due to Sudan's Military Developments, Says Armenian Foreign Ministry
No Armenians have been harmed due to the developments in Sudan's capital, Khartoum. This information was provided by the spokesperson of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, Ani Badalyan, who added that the Armenian church has also not been damaged.
The spokesperson emphasized that the Armenian diplomatic mission is in constant contact with representatives of the small Armenian community residing in Sudan.
Furthermore, the lives of several Armenian citizens working in Sudan are not in danger.
It is important to note that on April 15, clashes began in Sudan between the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the regular army. The RSF have claimed control over the Presidential Palace in Khartoum, the international airport in the capital, as well as the Merowe Air Base. The Rapid Support Forces have accused the regular army of attacking their base located in the capital using all types of weapons.
The Central Committee of Sudanese Doctors has reported that since April 13, 97 people have died and 942 have been injured in the clashes occurring in Sudan.
