Health Minister Calls to Avoid Calling Emergency Services for Minor Issues
Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan has urged the public to refrain from calling emergency services for trivial matters. This statement was made during a discussion in the National Assembly.
According to the Minister, there is a problem when it is not clear in which cases the emergency dispatcher can refuse a call. "It turns out that in every call, the ambulance responds to the scene, and we end up having missed critical cases while addressing less important ones. Work is currently underway to develop clear guidelines and to retrain the entire dispatch corps. I want to remind citizens that unnecessary calls made by anyone could potentially impact someone else's life. There is no need to use this expensive service just for administering an injection or lowering blood pressure," Avanesyan emphasized.
Furthermore, the Minister added that efforts are being made to revise the regional mapping of emergency services, which will make the operations of the ambulance system more efficient.
