Train Collision in Eastern Bangladesh Leaves at Least 30 Injured
At least 30 people have been injured in a collision between a passenger and a freight train in eastern Bangladesh. This was reported by Iz.ru.
The incident occurred in the Kumilla district, located 96 km east of the capital, Dhaka. A passenger train traveling at a speed of 70 km/h collided with a freight train that was stationary at the station. As a result of the collision, five carriages of the passenger train derailed.
Five of the injured individuals have been hospitalized with severe injuries. According to preliminary assessments, the collision was caused by a failure of the signaling system at the station and mistakes made by railway personnel.
