37-Year-Old Man Assaults Mother, Cuts Her Neck with Knife: New Details

On April 16, at 14:33, the operational management center of the police received a report from the Arabkir division that an employee of a hotel on Sakoy Street in the capital called 9-11 to report that a woman and a man, who introduced themselves as mother and son, had arrived at the hotel. Subsequently, sounds of beating were heard from their room, and when staff approached, they found the woman in a bloody and battered state.

Minutes later, a report was also received from the Arabkir ambulance station stating that an ambulance team was transporting an injured woman from the mentioned hotel to a hospital. At 15:52, it was reported by the Armenia Medical Center that the ambulance team had brought in a 75-year-old woman who had sustained a cut and bleeding wound to the neck at the hotel.

Prior to this, a notification had been received from the 1st University Hospital. They stated that a male resident of the 2nd micro-district of Avan-Arinj, a 37-year-old man, had been transferred to them with bodily injuries after jumping from the 4th floor.

The heads of the police and investigative departments traveled to the scene with an operational group. It was found that at around 13:00, during a dispute in the hotel room, the 37-year-old man assaulted his mother and cut her neck with a knife, after which he attempted to flee by jumping off the open balcony of the hotel’s 4th floor.

The knife used in the crime has been found. The documents prepared have been forwarded to the investigative department. The circumstances of the incident are being clarified.
