Man Murders Wife in Front of Their Young Daughter with Exceptional Brutality

The investigation into the murder of a 35-year-old woman by a 31-year-old man has been completed. This was reported by the Investigative Committee.

“Based on the factual data obtained through investigative and procedural actions carried out by the Arabkir Investigative Division of the Yerevan Investigative Committee, it has been established that on May 4, 2022, between 21:15 and 23:20, in an apartment on Adonci Street in Yerevan, the 31-year-old man had an argument with his ex-wife. In the presence of their young daughter, he deliberately and brutally took her life, displaying indifference and disregard for his daughter's suffering and his wife's torment by inflicting bodily harm on her. Subsequently, continuing his criminal intent, the 31-year-old man strangled his ex-wife by squeezing her neck, resulting in her death from mechanical asphyxiation.

Based on sufficient evidence obtained, the man has been charged under Article 104, Part 2, Clause 5 of the former Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, which corresponds to Article 155, Part 2, Clause 6 of the current Criminal Code of Armenia. He has been remanded in custody as a preventive measure. The investigation has been completed, and the materials of the criminal case have been sent to the supervising prosecutor for approval and forwarding to court,” the statement said.
