Clash Between Azerbaijanis and Georgian Police Occurred
A clash occurred between police officers and civilians in the village of Dastakhepe, located in the Marneuli region of Georgia, where many Azerbaijanis reside. The incident took place on April 12, after a driver in an intoxicated state was instructed by patrol police representatives to stop his vehicle on the Marneuli-Sadakhlo route. The driver did not comply with the authorities' orders and continued driving, ultimately losing control and overturning the vehicle.
Following the accident, the driver and two passengers in the car verbally insulted and physically assaulted the police officers, causing damage to a vehicle owned by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. During the incident, a crowd of local residents gathered at the scene and prevented the police from arresting the individuals involved, allowing them to flee the area.
As a result of operational-search and investigative measures undertaken, the driver, along with the two passengers, was soon apprehended by the police on charges of committing a crime.
