Arthur Sahakyan Was from Gyumri: A Brave, Devoted, and Modest Young Man

Yesterday, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia published the names of the soldiers who fell while valiantly defending the sovereign territory of Armenia against an Azerbaijani provocation on April 11. One of them, Arthur Sahakyan (born in 1999), was from Gyumri. His close friends have shared photos online, mourning the tragedy.

Human rights defender Karapet Poghosyan also expressed condolences to the family, mentioning that one of the martyrized boys was from Gyumri, a freshly graduated officer from the 'Sovkhoz' district.

Those who knew him describe Arthur as a brave, devoted, and modest young man. It is noteworthy that as a result of the gunfire exchange in the territory of Tegh village, the Armenian side has 4 casualties and 6 injured.
