Driver of Opel Offered 5000 Dram Bribe to Police Officer
On April 10, at around 23:40, police officers in the Aragatsotn province stopped an Opel vehicle while patrolling the Yerevan-Gyumri highway at the beginning of the Agarak village. This information was reported by the official website of the Police of the Republic of Armenia.
The driver did not have the technical inspection and mandatory insurance documents, and the vehicle was listed as wanted. The 46-year-old driver, a resident of the capital city, was found to be intoxicated and lacked the appropriate documents to operate the vehicle. To avoid administrative documentation, he attempted to bribe the police officer with five thousand drams.
The driver was arrested and taken to the Ararat police department with the vehicle. A criminal case has been initiated by the Aragatsotn regional investigative department regarding the incident. The 46-year-old man has been transferred to the detention facility of the department. The investigation is underway to clarify the circumstances.
