Investigators Question Lawmakers: Details from Closed Inquiry

The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports that Armenia's Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan will enter the parliament following MP Mher Sahakyan. A criminal case is set to be initiated against him.

Currently, law enforcement agencies are monitoring the investigation's progress to determine the specific demands of Anna Vardapetyan in parliament—whether it is solely to lift immunity or if there will also be a request for arrest. This means that the decision regarding Mher Sahakyan's detention was not finalized as of yesterday, and it remains to be seen what will happen today or tomorrow. We will follow the developments.

Regarding the questions posed to the parliament members by the investigators yesterday: Where were you sitting? What sparked the argument? Did you see any objects in Mher Sahakyan's hands that he might have used to strike Vladimir Vardanyan? Where did Vladimir Vardanyan fall? And so forth. It is noteworthy that none of the ruling party's MPs clearly stated that Mher Sahakyan possessed any object with which he struck Vardanyan.

The investigators are inquiring about some object that the MP might have had in his hand, as Vladimir Vardanyan clearly specified in his report that Mher Sahakyan struck him on the left eyebrow with some object in his right hand. Mher Sahakyan insists that he struck with his fist.
