Azerbaijanis Provoked and Denied Medical Assistance to Armenian Women: Gurgen Nersisyan

The State Minister of Artsakh, Gurgen Nersisyan, refuted claims made by the Azerbaijani side in an interview with Public Television regarding their supposed humanitarian actions and the transfer of women to a medical facility after their health deteriorated due to the incursion of vehicles.

“Azerbaijan's assessments and clarifications are so simplistic and false, I would characterize them as follows: Azerbaijan suffocated people and then tried to give them artificial respiration to claim that they saved lives,” Nersisyan stated.

According to him, the situation was directly provoked by the Azerbaijanis, and due to their provocative actions, an adverse scenario was anticipated for elderly women.

“With those actions, they certainly anticipated such a situation, and when Russian peacekeepers attempted to involve emergency medical services, the Azerbaijanis immediately presented themselves as medical workers aiming to provide assistance. It is noteworthy that when peacekeepers suggested calling for an ambulance from Stepanakert, they ostentatiously offered to provide assistance in Shushi, and after being refused, they prohibited our ambulance vehicles from approaching that area. Effectively, the Russian peacekeepers prioritized the health of our citizens in that situation. This was demonstrative and also aimed at showcasing a sense of humanity while trying to conceal their actions, but in reality, they directly prevented our ambulance from approaching,” he said.
