Waiting Will Not Last Long: Lavrov on Resuming Dialogue with the US
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has stated that the improvement of relations between the United States and Russia is not far off. This was reported by the ‘Russia-1’ television channel.
“In any case, we do not lose hope that the Americans will come to their senses and resume some dialogue. Let’s see. Waiting will not last long,” said the diplomat.
Commenting on the presentation of credentials to Russian President Vladimir Putin by the new US Ambassador Lynne Tracy, Lavrov said that relations with the US should be maintained regardless of everything, expressing hope that the White House will “wake up” and dialogue will resume.
At the same time, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry mentioned that currently, the relations between Moscow and Washington are at a phase of “hot war,” as Ukrainian forces are fighting against Russia using American weapons.
