A Series of Dismissals of Department Heads Expected in Investigative Bodies

The "Hayots Ashkharh" newspaper reports that a series of dismissals of department heads in the investigative bodies is expected in the near future.

The issue is that prosecutors and investigators are in serious conflict, and the tension has escalated to the point where they do not meet even when meetings are scheduled as part of any criminal proceedings. In written documents, they have been exchanging insults toward each other.

According to reports circulating in the law enforcement system, the Chief Prosecutor Anna Vardanyan has declared a "war" against both the head of the Investigative Committee, Argishti Kyaramyan, and the head of the Anti-Corruption Committee, Sasun Khachatryan. The aim of all this, as per rumors within the law enforcement system, is to replace them with new individuals.

As for who the potential candidates to lead the investigative bodies might be, we have not managed to ascertain that yet. Whether Anna Vardanyan will succeed in her high-stakes dismissals remains to be seen as developments unfold.

It is clear that the relationship between investigators and prosecutors has deteriorated to such an extent that department heads handling serious cases are preparing to submit their resignation letters.
