‘Yerevan is a historic city’: Turkish photojournalist
The Turkish sports newspaper ‘Fanatik’ photojournalist Serkan Hacioğlu recently visited Yerevan, toured the city, and visited the Republic Stadium, sharing his impressions, reported Ermenihaber.am.
“Yerevan is a historic city with its streets, squares, statues, and churches. The capital of Armenia, with a population of 3 million, has more than 1 million residents living in it. The city is not that lively. To be honest, I didn’t see anything related to the match to be played tomorrow against Ay-Yıldızlar (translated: ‘Moon-Stars,’ the nickname for the Turkish national team). In other words, there isn’t much football spirit in the city. I hope our national team will fight with great enthusiasm against Armenia and achieve a beautiful victory,” stated Hacioğlu.
