This information was released on the committee's official website.
As a result of extensive investigative and procedural actions, it has been established that on April 10, 2022, between 22:30 and 23:00, a 33-year-old resident of Goris engaged in a dispute with the deceased's father due to a personal issue concerning a romantic interest who rejected further communication with him.
Minutes later, at 23:11, he drove his "Mercedes Benz E320" to the aforementioned area and, while shouting insults, fired shots with a 9mm firearm, which he possessed illegally, towards the man’s chest, causing gunshot wounds. The man succumbed to his injuries on the way to the Goris Medical Center around 23:20, failing to regain consciousness.
Additionally, during the same incident, the 33-year-old man also fired at the 55-year-old brother of the deceased with the same firearm, intending to kill him, and after that punched him in the face, causing him to fall. Subsequently, the perpetrator fired two more shots at the man, but due to circumstances beyond his control, he did not complete the crime; the first bullet struck the mobile phone in the man’s vest pocket, while the other two shots did not hit him.
The 33-year-old resident of Goris has been charged under Article 104, Part 1, Article 235, Part 1, and Article 34-104, Part 1 of the former Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. He has been taken into custody as a preventive measure.
