Dead Newborn Found While Gathering Vegetables

Reports have emerged that a dead newborn has been found in Syunik. Auroranews.am contacted Zarzand Gabrielyan, head of the Press Department at the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The police confirmed that an alert had been received.

Gabrielyan specifically stated that yesterday, on March 20, around 15:30, the Goris police station received a report from a citizen that a newborn's body had been found in the forest adjacent to the area known as ‘Nor zangher’ along the Goris-Stepanakert highway.

“The dispatched operational group has established that the citizen discovered the body while gathering vegetables, which was partially covered with a blanket. It is the body of a female newborn,” said Gabrielyan.

He added that measures are being taken to clarify the circumstances of the incident, and the documents have been sent to the investigative department. We also contacted the Investigative Committee, from where they stated that a statement regarding the issue would be released shortly.
