Video: Tense Situation in Paris - What is Happening Right Now

France, suburb of Paris at this moment: videos are spreading in international media. As seen in the footage, a large crowd of demonstrators has taken to the streets once again, while law enforcement is trying to disperse the protest.

It is noteworthy that yesterday approximately 480,000 people participated in protests against pension reforms across France, as reported by the country's Ministry of Internal Affairs. According to the agency, around 37,000 of them staged a protest in Paris.

In turn, France's largest trade union, the General Confederation of Labor, announced that about 1.7 million people took part in the demonstrations, with approximately 450,000 protesters in the capital.

French media indicate that the protests were largely peaceful yesterday; however, 22 people were arrested in Paris.

Recall that last week, the French Senate approved the pension reform bill proposed by President Emmanuel Macron. Now that the Senate has passed the bill, it will be discussed by a joint committee of lawmakers from the lower and upper houses. If the committee agrees on the text, the final vote in both houses could take place today.
