Babken Shahumyan, Director of Medline Clinic LLC, Arrested

Babken Shahumyan, the director of Medline Clinic LLC, has been arrested. This information was confirmed to Aurora News by the Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia.

It was revealed yesterday that a search was conducted in the office of Yerevan's Deputy Mayor Gevorg Simonian.

Later, the Anti-Corruption Committee announced that Simonian, who served as Deputy Minister of Health of Armenia from 2020 to 2022, failed to carry out his official duties due to personal interests, which resulted in significant harm to the legitimate interests of the state.

Within the framework of the criminal proceedings, both Gevorg Simonian and Babken Shahumyan, as well as L. E., the head of the stable department of the National Institute of Oncology under the Ministry of Health, and eight other individuals were arrested on March 10.
