Video: Man Barricaded in Apartment in Russia Threatens to Kill Himself and His 3-Year-Old Son

A man has barricaded himself in his apartment in Nizhnevartovsk, Russia, threatening to kill himself and his 3-year-old son. Eyewitnesses report hearing several gunshots as the Ministry of Emergency Situations attempted to open the apartment door.

According to Russian Telegram channels, he claims that the entrance to the apartment is fully wired with explosives. The man is demanding a meeting with the head of the Russian Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrikin. The mayor of Nizhnevartovsk is also present at the scene.

Reports indicate that the 3-year-old child, whom the father is holding in the Nizhnevartovsk apartment, has not been harmed. Law enforcement is monitoring him via a webcam installed in the apartment, as reported by the regional children's ombudsman Lyudmila Nizamova.
