New Conditions Established for the Implementation of Childcare Benefits for Children Under Two
The government has made amendments and additions to a previously adopted decision regarding the law on state benefits in Armenia. According to the justification, new conditions have been established for the implementation of the right to childcare benefits for children under two years of age.
Accordingly, it is proposed to differentiate cases of denial of childcare benefits by the regional department based on the category of the parent (for children born before 2023, for employed and rural-dwelling parents, and for children born on or after January 1, 2023).
It has been established that besides the self-employed method, the amount of childcare benefit changes also when information regarding the parent is provided, indicating that it is classified information under Armenian legislation, or when the employer has clarified information about the end (or interruption) of the parental leave through a registration application.
It is also stipulated that in the event of the parent's death, the other parent will be granted childcare benefits if, as of the first day of the month in which the application is submitted, that parent is entitled to childcare benefits.
