Azerbaijan Tries to Give a Religious Dimension to the Nagorno-Karabakh Issue – Ararat Mirzoyan
The Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has released excerpts from the speech of Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, who addressed the 159th meeting of the Council of Arab States at the ministerial level.
“Unfortunately, our neighbor Azerbaijan continues to manipulate issues concerning the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the Nagorno-Karabakh issue in various international platforms, especially in organizations where Armenia is not represented, such as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Non-Aligned Movement, attempting to give them a religious tint and using the sensitive ideology of Islamic solidarity. We expect that such attempts will be rejected and will not draw our friendly Arab countries into the field of religious disputes. We must prevent any further attempts to impart a religious dimension to issues that are solely political and humanitarian in nature,” he stated.
