Court Rejects Police Claim: Father of Deceased Mikhtar Galayan Will Not Be Fined
The Administrative Court of Armenia has rejected the police's demand to hold Garik Galayan, the father of Mikhtar Galayan who was killed during the 44-day war, administratively liable. This information has been obtained from the Datavallex information system.
The court announced its decision yesterday, on March 7.
The ruling will enter into legal force one month after publication and can be appealed in the Administrative Court of Appeals within the same timeframe.
It should be noted that the claim pertains to Article 182 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (Failure to comply with the lawful requirement of a serviceman or police officer while performing duties of maintaining public order and ensuring public safety). This is punishable by a fine equivalent to five times the salary.
Recall that on September 21, the parents of fallen servicemen gathered early in the morning at the Yerablur military pantheon to prevent Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan from approaching their sons' graves. Police officers used brute force to detain dozens of parents under the grounds of failing to comply with the police's lawful requirement.
