Snow Avalanche Traps Skiers in Turkey, Casualties Reported

In the northeastern region of Turkey, specifically in Artvin, skiers have been trapped under a snow avalanche, with reports indicating that two individuals have lost their lives, according to TRT Haber.

The governor stated, “The avalanche descended upon citizens skiing in the Yaylalar plateau of the Olgunlar village. Preliminary data indicates that 2 people have died, and another 7 have sustained various injuries.”

The provincial disaster management authority, in coordination with regional administration, continues to work with all relevant teams to address the aftermath of this incident.
