Azerbaijan to Pay Over €25,000 in Compensation to Applicants as ECHR Issues Rulings in Four Cases

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has issued rulings in four cases against the Azerbaijani government. The court has ordered the Azerbaijani authorities to pay over €25,000 in compensation to the applicants.

Three of the applications submitted to the European court concern illegal actions by the Azerbaijani authorities against opposition politicians, while one relates to an unlawful search and confiscation of property carried out by the Azerbaijani authorities at the office of the International Research and Exchanges Board (IREX).

In all four cases, the European Court of Human Rights has mandated the Azerbaijani government to compensate the applicants, citing violations of fundamental principles such as liberty, personal security, private life, and the right to a fair trial.
