Altercation Between Agazaryan and Street Vendor; Police Intervene

MP Hovik Agazaryan from the 'Civil Contract' faction in the National Assembly has filed a report about an incident involving a citizen selling potatoes on Tigranyan Street. This is reported by Aravot.am.

“There was a mutual struggle, there was no beating. This morning, as I was heading to work, I noticed a vehicle parked on the thoroughfare of Tigranyan Street selling potatoes. I parked my car and approached the vehicle, but I did not find anyone inside. As I was looking around, a citizen approached and asked what was happening. I inquired why he was selling there, and he responded that he was doing just fine and it was none of my business. When I introduced myself as an MP, he started talking aggressively, and during the scuffle, a bag of potatoes fell. There were offensive words exchanged, that's about it,” Agazaryan recounted in an interview with Aravot.am.

According to Hovik Agazaryan, he quickly called the head of the Arabkir administrative district, who then informed the police. The police arrived at the scene, calmed the situation, and removed the vendor from the area. When asked if the insults and offensive remarks from the citizen could be linked to his party affiliation, the MP stated: “No, he and his kind are just the parasites who drain the physical, psychological, and material blood of the common people. He is 100 percent a representative of that class, because no one else would dare to set up trade on a thoroughfare. Naturally, an ordinary citizen might hesitate to address the issue, but I didn’t. Utilizing my parliamentary mandate, I tried to restore order so that such things wouldn’t occur. But the aggression was there, and it wasn’t because I’m from the CP - he didn’t even recognize me. People of that type know how to assert dominance over everything with their own blood and so on.”
