11 Minors and 4 Adults Seek Medical Attention for Food Poisoning in Artsakh

On February 25, eleven minors under the age of 15 and four adults presented to the infectious diseases department of the "Arevik" medical unit in Artsakh, with diagnoses of food poisoning. This was reported by the Artsakh information headquarters.

Following operational measures by the State Inspection Committee of Artsakh, it was determined that the children had attended an event on February 23 at the public catering establishment named "Ani-Food," operated by individual entrepreneur Ashkhen Dadayan.

In response to the situation, and to prevent further incidents at the same establishment, the head of the Committee’s food safety inspection department visited the venue, outlining potential risks and dangers, and suspended kitchen operations.

On February 27, inspections by the Committee's inspectors were conducted at the public catering organization. Due to expired sanitary books among all 12 employees, a decision was made to suspend their employment, and directives were issued to address the violations and notify the inspection authority.

The "Center for Epidemiology and Hygiene," a state non-commercial organization, conducted laboratory tests, which revealed the presence of Salmonella Enteritidis bacteria among staff and food remnants. Based on these findings, the State Inspection Committee decided to halt the sale of the implicated products.

Inspections were also carried out at raw material supply companies, with no violations recorded there. Overall, a food poisoning incident related to "Ani-Food" has been documented affecting 27 individuals who consumed food on February 23. The company's activities will only be allowed to resume after rectifying the reported violations and confirming compliance through laboratory testing of trial products.
