Removing Ruben Vardanyan Inflicts a Blow to Artsakh's Internal Unity: ARF Bureau
In the context of the political processes surrounding Artsakh, the recent developments, particularly the dismissal of Ruben Vardanyan, raise numerous questions and concerns, contrary to the explanations provided. This was stated in a statement issued by the ARF Bureau.
“The decision to remove him was made without consideration of public sentiment and without a consensus from the key political actors, which is unacceptable regardless of the motives. The issue at hand is how correct this decision was regarding the resilience of Artsakh. It was known from the outset that the appointment of Ruben Vardanyan as State Minister would provoke serious resistance both in Azerbaijan and within certain circles in Armenia and Artsakh. This indeed happened when both Aliyev's dictatorship and the Armenian government simultaneously exerted pressure on Artsakh to remove Ruben Vardanyan from office.
This situation is unacceptable and represents a significant blow to the essential internal unity of the Republic of Artsakh. Despite the realities, it had been possible to record positive developments in Artsakh by keeping the spirit of hope and struggle intact. The resilience and will demonstrated by the people of Artsakh in recent months have been recognized on a pan-Armenian level. We all have a role to play in turning that hope into victories. Daily consistent work to clearly define our goals and the means to achieve them, however difficult, cannot be in vain. Despite the internal and external conspiratorial plans, the struggle for the dignity and existence of the Armenian people must continue.
The ARF believes in the power of the tripartite unity of Armenia-Artsakh-Diaspora and will continue to contribute with all its capabilities to the cause of resistance and struggle.”
