Possible Fare Changes: Draft Submitted for Public Discussion

The Government of Armenia, through the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, has presented a draft amendment to the Law on Automobile Transport for public discussion. According to this proposal, in cases of changing, extending, or shortening the routes and schemes of separate routes within the unified route networks, or in the formation of new routes not planned through a competitive selection of a unified operator, the established fare for the operation of the existing route may be revised based on the submission of the competitive commission. This revision would be approved by the decision of the relevant body organizing the route network according to the provisions set out in Article 10, Part 2 of this law. Additionally, for the service of inter-community bus regular transportation selected through a purchasing process, the fare establishment will be determined by the council's decision.
